Later, he appeared in "Il Gattopardo" but he obtained a big success in Luis Buñuel's "Belle de Jour" (1967) and "Benjamin ou les Mémoires d'un Puceau" (1968)directed by Michel Deville. Also, he is remembered in "Partner" (1968), "Le Lit de la Vierge" (1969), Pier Paolo Pasolini's "Porquerie" (1969) and "Le Conformiste" (1971). In the 80s, he worked in "Pont du Nord" and "Clash." His last films was "Le Bassin de J.W." (1997) and "Hideous Kinky" (1998). He died in his hometown of liver cancer.
