Mr James Urmson (died 14 Jan 1911) full of years and good works, father of Mrs C. P. Sloinger, passed away at the home of his daughter on South Peters avenue, this city in the 80th year of his life. Old age and general debility is given as the cause. The body was taken to his old home, Morrefield, Nebraska for burial, where the funeral services were held yesterday.

Mr Urmson was born in Lancashire, England in 1831, joined the Baptist Church at the age of 21 and has lived a consistent christial life. He came to America at the age of nine years, to Sharon, PA, where on July 21, 1853, he was married to Miss Cecelia Phillips, who survives him. Of this marriage, eleven children were born, seven of whom are still living. The children are Thomas Urmson, of Sheridan, WY; William and John Urmson of Sawtell, CA; Mrs E A Moore of Talent, OR; Mrs J A Lamar of Crete, NE; Mrs John Palmer of Canton, OK; Mrs C P Sloinger, of Norman, OK. He also has two sister and a brother living, Mrs Harry Taylor, Mrs James Budd and John Urmson, all of Sharon, PA. Prior to coming to Norman, Mr Urmson resided at Bridges Corner, IL, Crete, NE and Fulton, NE, in all of which places he was a man of affairs and most highly respected. Mrs Urmson, the widow and Mr and Mrs Palmer accompanied the body to Moorefield, leaving here Monday evening. Mrs Cecelia Urmson, Mrs C.P. Sloinger and Mrs Palmer desire the Transcrip to express their thanks to friends and neighbors for all their assistance and sympathy.
