Ethel was the daughter of David Mack and Benson Bellzora (Wilson) Bingham. She had 12 siblings, one of whom died in infancy. At the age of 15 she married Bell (not Bill) Bradshaw, who called her Snow.

According to an essay written years later by one of her daughters, Ethel loved to dance. She and Bell held dances for relatives at their home. Cotton was piled in a corner for the children to play in and sleep on while the adults entertained themselves. The couple apparently was happy for several years, but problems arose and they divorced.

Ethel was the mother of two children, Helen O'leta and Jessie Evelyn. She was given full custody of the girls when she and Bell divorced. She worked as a waitress to support them until she became ill and could no longer work. Her sister, Juanita, took care of her until she was hospitalized, and other relatives cared for the girls.

Ethel died in the Lubbock Sanitarium from arsenic poisoning. Her body was transported back to Calf Creek, where she was buried. A stone wasn't erected until several years later when her daughters purchased one to memoralize their mother. May she rest in gentle peace.
