Daughter of John Miller and Ruth Bailey (per death record, Carter Co., KY), who were married on 25 Mar 1782, Berkeley Co., VA. (now WV).

Married Job Davis, son of Aaron and Esther Davis. He had been previously married to Susannah Hedges on 17 Dec 1819, Greenup Co., KY.

Children (Job Davis):
1. Sarah Davis
2. Esther Davis m. Samuel Parker Williams on 8 Nov 1831, Greenup Co., KY.

Job, David, Nathaniel and Alexander Davis, four brothers, came to Kentucky at a very early age and settled on the East Fork, where they formed what was called the "Davis Settlement".

Job Davis moved to Sandy River, Grayson, Carter County, Kentucky, and bought Campbell Heights, the estate of William Grayson Carter about the year 1850. Colonel William Grayson Carter married Susan Shelby, the daughter of Gen. James Shelby and Mary Pindell, granddaughter of Kentucky’s first governor Isaac Shelby.

Susan Shelby Carter was mainly responsible for the construction of what became called "Lansdowne Hall". She hired a brick layer and had the bricks made on site by slaves. The house was finally finished in the 1830’s. Her husband Colonel William Carter was a state senator, representing Lewis, Greenup and Lawrence Counties from 1834-1838. Carter County, Kentucky, was named for him. Upon his death from cholera in 1849, Susan Shelby Carter sold the estate to Job Davis and his wife Susan Miller.

Job Davis was a thrifty farmer, and made a handsome fortune for that day. His purchase of the Carter estate embraced the land where a dozen families now live, and he had plenty of slaves to work and improve it. He was a devout member of the Methodist Church, and died in the full assurance of a blessed immortality beyond the vale of tears.

Job Davis sold the mansion to Dr. Andrew Jackson Lansdowne, along with 3000 acres, for which he paid in gold. A.J. Lansdowne gave the estate the name “Luck Enough” but soon changed it to “Lansdowne Hall.”

Job and Susan Miller Davis moved to Lewis County, where Job Davis died about the year 1859.
