Bryan LeJeune
Jennings: It is with great sadness that the family of Bryan D. LeJeune announces the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather. He passed away July 21, 2014 at 6:45 pm at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Bryan served his country honorably in the Army. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church where he was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served in many capacities. Bryan received Knight of the Year two times, Knight of the Month twelve times and Family of the Month once. He also received the Order of Merit and Herman L. Berken Lifetime Service Award. He served on many committees as a member of the Lions Club of Jennings. He was awarded Lion of the Year twice and the Melvin Jones award, which are two of the highest honors for a Lion member. He was also a Faithful member of the American Legion. He worked in the Jeff Davis Parish Assessor's office for twenty-eight years, with the last eight years he served as assessor of Jeff Davis Parish. He was a member of the Board for Jeff Davis Water District #4.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Evelyn Fontenot LeJeune, his daughter
Vicki LeJeune, two sons Bill (Paula Gilbert) LeJeune and Kevin LeJeune all of Jennings, LA. He also leaves behind eleven wonderful grandchildren, one step granddaughter and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bryan "Tom" LeJeune and his parents Thomas and Victonne Bertrand LeJeune and eight siblings.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Bryan LeJeune, 81 of Jennings, LA at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, LA on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM by the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. The LeJeune family request visitation to resume on Thursday at 8:00 AM until time of his funeral mass. Bryan will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery with Full Military Rites.
Serving as pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus Council 2012, Michael Cassidy, Joe Faul, Donald Kratzer, Douglas Hollier, Daniel Stretcher, and Ricky Edwards.
