RICHARD JENNESS HAMILTON, 77, for 30 years editor of the Hagerstown Daily Mail, died at his home Sunday after a long illness.
Mr. Hamilton was the son of the late Gov. William T. Hamilton, and after a brief career in newspaper work in New York, returned to Hagerstown. With his brother-in-law, the late James T. Briscoe, he purchased the Daily Mail. He was its editor until its sale in 1920.
He is survived by his wife, a son, two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held today.
