Ship Capt. Steven M. Day, 58, set sail for Heaven on Aug. 5, 2014. He is survived by his mother, Doris M. Day; his brother, George; and his twin sisters, Sandra and Sonja. He was preceded in death by his father, Col. George E. "Bud" Day, USAF (Ret).
Steven had a love for the high seas and was a true sailor. He raced in the Worrell 1000 Hobie Cat Regatta. He was a ship captain for over 30 years and loved being on the water. Most knew him as "Sundancer".
A casual outdoor service will be held on Aug. 8, 2014, at 7 p.m., across the street from the Shalimar Pointe Country Club on private land.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made, in Steven's memory, to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1 Meigs Drive, Shalimar, FL 32579.
