Lloyd H. Bruso, 82, of Westville, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at his late home.

Born in Malone, New York, January 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Henry and Clara Mooers Bruso. He graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone in 1952.

On July 4, 1953, he was united in marriage to the former Doris L. Thompson at Notre Dame Church in Malone. She predeceased him on March 24, 2002.

Many years ago, Lloyd was employed by Tru-Stitch Footwear in Malone for more than twenty years. He then worked for Connors Oil Company in Malone as a furnace serviceman for twenty six years and later for Arnold Oil in Malone. He retired in 2000.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Westville. He enjoyed working at home, in his workshop, gardening, cutting wood, and attending auctions. His favorite times were spent with his family and having coffee with his many friends at the local restaurants.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Janine Bruso of Westville, and Lee and Christine Bruso of Waddington, New York; one sister, Marie Southworth of Malone; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one brother, Lyle Bruso and two sisters, Kathleen Gardner and Theresa Cassaw.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery in North Bangor in the spring.
