Born October 17, 1926 at Buck, he was the son of the late Estel and Myrtle Houchins Huffman.
Mr. Huffman retired as plant manager for Tri-State Envelope Company in Laurel, Maryland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hinton. Ray loved music and playing the guitar. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Harry Huffman and also by a sister, Onva Allen.
Survivors include his wife of almost 66 years, Mary Allen Huffman. One son, Randy Huffman of Towson, MD. Two daughters, Rae Anne Sparrow & husband Warren of Westminster, MD and Linda Huffman & husband Gerard Albright of Sykesville, MD. Three brothers, Ralph Huffman of Hinton, Roy Huffman of Winston-Salem, NC and Ricky Huffman of Wytheville, VA. Five grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday August 18, 2014 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Jeff Canterbury and Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery on Zion Mountain near Hinton. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
