According to "The Bennington Evening Banner" of Bennington, Vermont: "She had been working hard for six months, especially at Serbian relief. Until she was taken ill three months ago. During her illness she received a letter of appreciation from the King of Serbia in which he thanked her deeply for her efforts."

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch of Richmond, Virginia

"Her funeral was held in the Church of St. Honore d'Eylau. The French government city of Paris and all the foreign consulates were represented, while ambassador Sharp, with the embassy staff, and all the foremost members of the American Colony attended."

The body will remain in the Church Crypt until the consul-general has selected a suitable burial ground in the putskirts of Paris.
