Hiram Shultz, aged 71 years, was found dead at his home on East Franklin Street Tuesday evening, April 20. His body was found lying on the floor and it is presumed that he was stricken with apoplexy while sitting on a chair and fell to the floor. He was last seen about 3 o'clock. Mr. Shultz had been in his usual health and his sudden death came as a severe shock to his family. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Shultz, deceased, and was born July 20, 1848. The greater part of his life was spent at Blacksville, W. Va.; but for the past three years he and his family had resided in Waynesburg. By trade he was a stone mason, but at the time of his death he was employed at the American Steel Company plant in West Waynesburg. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Mr. Shultz was twice married. By his first marriage the following children survive: Mrs. Mary Jones, of El Dorado, Kansas; Mrs. Jennie Zimmeria, of Ranger, Texas; Mrs. Cassie Wright, of Blacksville, West Virginia; Mrs. Fannie Linton, of Waynesburg; George Shultz, of East Waynesburg, and William Shultz, of near Waynesburg. For his second wife he married Miss Mary Tustin, who survives with the following children by this marriage; Mrs. Lydia Rabor, of Blacksville, West Virginia; John Shultz, of McKeesport, and Edwin Shultz, at home. Short funeral services were held at his late home yesterday afternoon. Further services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Phillips church in Wayne township. Interment will be in the Phillips Cemetery.
