OBITUARY.
Died at Velasco on Friday morning at 2 o'clock, the 23d September, of the whooping cough, JACOB GEORGE, infant son of his Excellency David G. Burnet, President of this Republic. - The privations and discomforts to which the arduous duties of our infant Republic exposed the President and his amiable family during the turmoil of a protracted warfare are known only to the very few who enjoyed his friendship, and in all probability the proximate cause of a bereavement which have deeply afflicted his feelings; and which the only solace that can be applied is the consciousness of that bliss hereafter that awaits the soul of innocence in the continued fruition of beatific vision.
