Entertainer. Berry began a singing career at the age of 9 after seeing the film 'The Al Jolson Story' and won the Kentucky Golden Gloves heavyweight championship in his teens. In his 20s, he became a national nightclub singer, headlining niteclubs on the East coast, as well as Los Angeles’ Cocoanut Grove and many other venues, where he was often billed as "The Singing Fighter". Onstage he appeared in several shows including 'Carousel', 'Oklahoma!', 'The Music Man' and 'Guys and Dolls'. After appearing in 'Celebrity Cavalcade' with Buddy Hackett, he starred in his own musical reviews, including 'Memory Lane of Fame' where he performed frequently with Ella Fitzgerald. When the nightclub era faded, he turned to fashion design, creating the L’Uoma Elegante line of men’s formal wear as well a line of golf wear. Later, he was part of a group who developed the TelePrompTer system. Berry died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
