She was the Daughter of William and Priscilla (Summers) Oliver. Her children: Minnie Belle, Robert, Mary.

The census records on the Oliver family have been very inconsistent and it was difficult to know for sure when and where Tennesse was born. I was told by a family member who had knowledge of the Oliver family that Tennessee was born in Tennesee and therefore she was named accordingly. I accepted this as the most possible as I felt the source was reliable. The Summers family were Cherokee and said to have originally come from the Cherokee nation in N. Carolina. They were married however in Saline Co where Priscilla's family most likely settled during the Trail of Tears. The family finally settled in Magee Springs, Ky and that is were Priscilla raised her children.

I was told that a wonderful Picture of Tennessee existed at one time and that it had been pasted to the wall of the family home and later wallpapered over. When the wall paper was removed the picture was still there and intact, but of course they were unable to remove it. She had beautiful black long hair and she was very beautiful.

Tennesee was a woodsey woman who could do what any man could do. She was said to have held off some civil war stragglers along with her sisters who meant to steal their food. Their mother Priscilla fed the stragglers and filled their knap sacks with food and sent them on with the warning that if they came back for the food or horses she would see to it they were shot down.
