Ms. Ruth M. Sasser Gay, age 82, died on Thursday at Sylview Health Care Center in Sylvania. She was formerly Ruth McGee, the daughter of the late Walker W. and Janie Walker McGee of Hacondale. The Screven County native lived most of her life in Jenkins County. She was formerly the manager of Kaplan's Department Store and the owner-operator of the Dollar Down-Dollar a Week. She was also a retired clerk from Humphries Dry Cleaners in Millen. She was the widow of the late Hinton Littleton Sasser of Millen. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, the late Sherry B. Sasser of Hunters. Several sweet little angels welcomed mama and great-grandmama to heaven. "Mama, God has chosen a flower, and Mama, you are that beautiful rose."

Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Jane and Marion Eastmead of Sardis, and Ruth Janell and Arnold Gay, Sr. of Clearwater, S.C.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Von Ray "Bunny" Sasser of North Augusta, S.C. and Hinton Ellis "Eddie" and Kathleen Sasser of Savannah; two sisters, Mary Alice McGee Stuart of Augusta and Lucy McGee Sheppard of Savannah; eight grandchildren, Teresa Kaney, Arnold D. Gay, Jr., Christopher Eastmead, Cynthia Eastmead, Cheryl Eastmead, Devera Lynn Roberts, Littleton Sasser, and Michelle Beamon; and nine great-grandchildren, Savannah Roberts, Shane Roberts, Chance Cannon, Blake Girardeau, Clarissa Eastmead, Fiona Eastmead, Ian Eastmead, Ciera Eastmead, and Dustin Eastmead.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Little Horse Creek Baptist Church in Woodcliff with the Reverends Bob beasancon and David Buie officiating. Burial will be in the Sasser Square in the church cememtery.

Pallbearers include Christopher Eastmead, Arnold Gay, Jr., Rocky Roberts, Littleton Sasser, Jeff Kaney and Jake Boatwright.
