English Actor. Jones is perhaps best remembered for his roles in "Z Cars" and "Porridge". He also starred in the sitcom series "The Liver Birds", in which he played Uncle Dermot alongside his wife Sheila Fay. They met in Liverpool at the Merseyside Community Theatre Group, which was started by the father of his lifelong friend Malcolm Frood. They married on 30 October 1964 at St Polycarp Church, in Everton, near where Jones's family had made their home in Anfield. Jones passed away at a nursing home in Prescot, aged 83 having suffered from bowel cancer.
