She attended East Texas State University where she met her husband Erwin A. Youngblood. They were married on August 15, 1948 in Daingerfield, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2002.
As Erwin started his career in education, Margaret worked at First National Bank, Waco and then Insurance Claim Service, Waco. When they moved to Stinnett, Texas, she worked for the Stinnett School System. When they moved to Knox City, Texas, she retired and became a full-time mom to seven children. She was known for making fudge, brownies and sweet cornbread. After the children were grown, she worked for Brookesmith RISD, Brookesmith, Texas retiring in May 1986. She and Erwin traveled in retirement and visited all fifty states at least once.
She was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church and various Sunday School classes. She was active in the community volunteering her time at The Good Shepherd Thrift Store. She served many years as an election judge.
The funeral will be Wednesday September 10th, 2014 at 2:00pm at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, Brownwood with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Tuesday, September 9th at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to West Texas Rehab, Coggin Avenue Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
