Clarence R. Yancey, 64, King Street, Freeport, N.Y., died July 3, 1983, at Lydia Hall Medical Center. Born Apr. 4, 1919, in Lincoln Township, son of the late Edward S. and Minnie S. (Smith) Yancey. Also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Survived by his wife, the former Sylvia Shepherd; and two sons: Lt. Christopher Edward, Washington, D.C., and Spec. 4 William Shepherd, Fort Ord, Monteray, Calif. Brother of: Mrs. Lima (Mary Elizabeth)
Davis, Richland, Calif.; Mrs. Ruth Pringle, Panama City, Panama; James, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Henry (Helen) Wallace, St. Louis, Mo.; and Paul, Somerset. Member of the First Christian Church. Past Master of the Prince Hall Lodge F.& A.M. Veteran of World War II. Volunteer with Salvation Army and Boy Scouts of America. A former owner of Somerset County Laundry. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Richard E. Hauger
Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Gene Sellers officiating.
