Edward Henry "Eddie" Barr was born on February 15, 1890 in Mississippi, and he was the son of Jacob M Barr III (1863– ) and Emma E (Boucher) Barr (1865–1951).

He was married 1st in 1913 as the 1st husband of Mannie "Virginia" Doyle (Barr) Howell (1894–1956), and they were later divorced. He was married 2nd to Frances Beatrice Medlin (1912–2002).

Eddie was a solicitor for Young's Dry Cleaners and lived at 480 Boscobel Heights, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. He was 53 years old and married when he died on December 6, 1943 of a cerebral hemorrhage at Nashville General Hospital where he had been a patient for seven days. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
