Doris Marie Walters, age 90, of Marinette, WI passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at her home. She was born to the late Frank and Ethel (Peterson) Walters, Sr. on March 6, 1924, the oldest of eight children.

Doris graduated from Marinette High School and over the years had been employed by the Boreal Mfg. Co., FNT Industries, Emerson Electric and Garfield School.
Some of the things that brought joy to her life included sitting on her porch, shopping with her great-nieces Amanda and Megan, camping, going to family gatherings, attending church and being with her friends from the VFW. She also looked forward to her daily phone calls with friends, especially Pat Lohff, and her family.
Doris also found great joy with her past canine companions, Sassy and Hobbs. Doris was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church.

Doris is survived by her sister Shirley Champeau of Menominee, MI;
a brother, Leonard (Midge) Walters of Marinette, WI;
several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Robert, Frank, Jr., Kenneth and Roger; along with a sister, Lucille Harris and her husband, Philo Harris.

Friends may call at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Marinette on Sunday, October 5, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Stubenvoll officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery
Doris may have not had any children of her own, but she was blessed with a family that loved her. Her love and laughter will be missed.
