Thomas Walsh, a former resident of this city, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in East St. Louis Saturday afternoon about 4 o'clock following an illness of about five days the result of hemorrhages.
The body was shipped here Saturday night where it was taken to the residence of Philip Liebler at 511 South Fillmore street. The funeral services will be conducted at the house tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock and from there to the church at 9:30 o'clock where Rev. C.A. O'Reilly will be in charge of the services. Burial will be made at St. Mary's cemetery.
Mr. Walsh was born in Edwardsville in 1879 and was forty-two years old at the time of his death. He lived here about twenty-five years during which time he was employed at the N.O. Nelson Manufacturing Company where he learned the trade of a machinist. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Eagles.
He is survived by one brother, John Walsh of Canada, and two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Leach of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Charles Harmening of Chicago Heights.
Mr. Walsh, as a former resident of this city, had many friends and acquaintances here.
