She was the daughter of John and Margaret (Potts) Redpath, the third daughter of nine children. She came with her family to McAlester, Oklahoma in the 1900's. Her father, John Redpath, owned the McAlester Foundry and Machine Shop and later bought the Union Iron Works in McAlester. She married Joseph Jerome McGinnity, the son of Peter and Hannah (Denning) McGinnity, on November 29, 1893 in Krebs, Choctaw Nation, IT. She and Joseph lived in Springfield and Decatur, Illinois, and Tacoma, Washington. They had two daughters, Rebecca Ann McGinnity, who was stillborn in 1894, and Margaret who was born in 1895. After a long illness while living in Decatur, Illinois, Joseph brought her back to McAlester, Oklahoma, where she could see her family. She passed away while on that visit.
