**Heather Dominguez (LVPENNGEN) is looking for a descendant of Abraham or his siblings who would be willing to take an Ancestry DNA test. Please contact her at [email protected] if interested. Additionally, she is looking for a Male to Male descendant of Abraham or any brothers he may have had to take a Y-DNA test. Again, please contact her via the email above if interested.**

My cousins and I are exploring the possibility that this man could be our great grandfather of the same name, who spent most of his life in Springfield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and was last recorded as living there in 1850. He can be found in census and tax records there for 50 years.

In "Biographical Annals of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, Vol. II", page 269 in the book (page 995 on Ancestry.com), there is a profile of John Doyle, husband of Malinda Klotz. Malinda was the daughter of the Abraham we seek, and this profile references Abraham as such: "... retiring ultimately and residing at Chestnut Hill, where he died in 1856, at the age of ninety-three years. He was... a member of the Lutheran Church."

(There is a baptism of a 17 year old Abraham Klotz, son of Abraham, recorded at Zion Lehigh Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alburtis, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, on 16 Apr 1797. We cannot confirm this is the same man.)

Our Abraham Klotz's first confirmed record is his marriage to his first wife, Maria Catherine Smith on 7 Dec 1800 at Tohickon Reformed Church in Bucks County.

Children produced from this marriage were:

Samuel Klotz, b. 1801- buried at Trinity Church, Springfield Twp
Peter Smith Klotz, b. 1803- buried at Nockamixon, Bucks County.
Jacob Klotz, b. unk
Maria S. Klotz, b. 1806
Joseph Klotz, b. 1808
John S. Klotz, b. 1812
Hannah Klotz, b. 1814
Sarah Klotz, b. 1815
William Klotz, b. 1817

Catherine must have died between 1817 and 1818, because Abraham then married a woman named Elizabeth Schmidt (Smith), who we believe was a sister of Catherine's.

Children from his second marriage were:

Joseph Klotz, b. 1819
Susanna Klotz, b. 1820- buried in Ohio
Elizabeth Klotz, b. 1821- buried in Ivy Hill, aka Germantown or Chestnut Hill Cemetery
Rachel Klotz, b. 1823- buried in Kansas
Lavinia "Levina" Klotz, b. 1824- buried in Ivy Hill, aka Germantown or Chestnut Hill Cemetery
Rebeccah Klotz, b. 1826
Lucianna "Lucy Ann" Klotz, b. 1827- buried in Presbyterian German Cemetery, Germantown.
Rosanna Klotz, b. 1829- buried at Horsham Friends Cemetery, Montgomery County, PA
Fayette Klotz, b. 1831
Matilda Klotz, b. 1833- likely buried in Ivy Hill, aka Germantown or Chestnut Hill Cemetery
Malinda Klotz, b. 1837

In Springfield Township, Abraham and his family attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, also known as Trinity United Church of Christ, and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Again, it must be mentioned that we are not sure the man buried in this graveyard is our Abraham. We are open to any evidence in either direction.
