Pfc. Joseph Knott of Yuma, Arizona enlisted in the Army about a year before he died. It was part patriotism, part love of guns and all things military, part desire to emulate the older brother in the Navy he looked up to. He was trained to drive vehicles but hoped to someday become a sniper. Joseph graduated from Kofa High School in 2002. Survived by his parents, Jerry and Pam Knott, and 3 older siblings. He was killed at age 21 when his convoy was attacked by enemy forces.
