Thomas Louis Magliozzi , known as just “Tom”, was a co-host of a radio show called “Car Talk”. He and his brother made up the duo known as, “Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers”. They began their career in 1977 at Boston, Massachusetts at WBUR and ten years later moved to NPR which had a national audience. Tom was from an Italian family and he grew up in a very rough neighborhood, but he graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. While he attended the Institute he was in the “Air Force ROTC,” after which he spent six months in the Army Reserve. Tom’s show was awarded a “Peabody Award” in 1992. He continued his successful career until 2012 when both he and his brother retired.
