His obituary which appeared in the Crowley Signal on 1 May 1951 reads: David J. LeJeune Of Egan Dies In Legion Hospital – David J. LeJeune, 47, of Egan died at about 2:40 p.m. Monday at the Legion hospital in Crowley. Mr. LeJeune is reported to have been in ill health for the past 12 years, and had been in critical condition for the past three weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Estherwood Catholic church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. LeJeune is survived by his father, David Lejeune of Estherwood; his wife, the former Martha Sensat; two brothers, Calise and Wilson of Egan; six sisters, Mrs. Ozonne Myers of Estherwood, Mrs. Lawrence Sonnier of Jennings, Mrs. Gus LeJeune of Egan, Mrs. A.J. Thibodeaux and Mrs. Cleve Leger of Egan, and Mrs. Edward Monceaux of Midland; a son, David, Jr. of Egan; and three daughters, Miss Dorothy LeJeune, Miss Margaret LeJeune and Miss Hilda LeJeune, all of Egan.
