At his residence, near Dayton, Rockingham county, Va., on Wednesday morning, the 10th of September, 1862, David COFFMAN, son of Joseph COFFMAN, in the 42nd year of his age. His disease was Pulmonary Consumption. He entered the Confederate service as a member of Capt. T. L. Yancey's company and belonged to the 1st Va. Reg't of Cavalry until his honorable discharge from the service, which occurred on the 23rd of August, after the first great battle at Manassas. He is survived by a wife and children.
