OBITUARY: Mrs. Adam Killian - reprinted from the November 20, 1924 Pierce County Herald

Mrs. Adam Killian, 58 years of age, died at her home in this village shortly before six o'clock Sunday evening. Death was due to a stroke. She arose Sunday morning in apparently the best of health and attended services twice Sunday forenoon at St. Francis Church. Shortly after dinner she complained of being ill.

The funeral was held Wednesday forenoon at St. Mary's Church at Big River, solemn requiem mass being sung by Father E. Kreil. Interment was made in the Big River Cemetery.

Deceased was born in El Paso Township, September 4, 1866, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Seifert. She was married to Adam Killian of Trimbelle Township in 1885.

Six children were born to this union, who with their father survive her. They are: George Killian, Mrs. Peter Hauth, Mrs. Matt Kullman, and Ray Killian of Trimbelle Township, Mrs. Anna Marek, Oak Grove, and Mrs. Peter Fischer, Clifton. She is also survived by three brothers and four sisters: Vince Seifert, Clifton, William Seifert, El Paso, Henry Seifert, St. Paul, Mrs. John Steiner and Mrs August Hageman, Sr. of Ellsworth, Mrs. Joe Hines, El Paso and Mrs. Emil Steiner, Morristown, South Dakota. She is also survived by her aged mother, 16 grandchildren and a host of friends.

Mrs. Killian was a woman of deep religious convictions, who will always be remembered by her loved ones as a true wife and mother a kind and obliging neighbor.

She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Mary's Catholic church at Big River, of which organization she was a valued member until she moved with her family to Ellsworth a few years ago.
