She was the daughter of Richard Clough Anderson and Elizabeth Clark. Her uncles included George Rogers and William Clark.
Her husband was John Logan, whom she married in 1810, with whom she had six children and who died in 1826. She then married John Riggs, with whom she had one son.
Her remains were moved to Cave Hill in 1912 into the lot of her daughter Sarah Jane Logan Gamble.
