Opera Singer. A soprano, she shall be principally remembered for performing the music of her native land. Trained at Stanislawowo, Lviv, and Warsaw, she broke into Polish National Radio around 1936 and established herself as a major concert artist. Over the years she introduced works by a number of Polish composers including Grazyna Bacewicz, Andrzej Panfnik, Witold Rudzinski, and Artur Malowski and in 1951 gave the world premiere of Witold Lutoslawski's "Silesian Triptych". Active in the Association of Polish Artists and Musicians, she received multiple honors, among them the Officers Cross of the Order of Polish Rebirth and the Gold Medal Gloria Artis. She remained alert and functional, lived out her days in Warsaw, and died of the effects of far advanced age; at her demise, her 1955 preservation of the "Silesian Triptych" remained available on CD.
