ZYGMUNT ZDONEK DECATUR, AL/PORTAGE, IN
Zygmunt Zdonek, age 62, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014.

He is survived by wife, Judy; son, Jay (Heather) Zdonek; grandson, Jay Zdonek II; sisters: Halina (Jim) Leibrand and Donna (Dick) Asbell; brothers: Roman (Marylou) Zdonek and Walter (Diane) Zdonek; ten nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Ziggy retired from Inland Steel with 30 years of service.

He enjoyed his time there making many nice friends along the way.

After retiring, he and his family moved to Alabama.

He liked fishing, golfing with his son Jay, karaoke, playing pool, and swimming.

Ziggy was the kind of person that would do anything for anyone. He was always doing for others and never asked for anything in return.
He had such a giving heart and could be generous to a fault. He really loved life and people, and everyone that met him liked him.
He was a wonderful loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched. We love you, and we will all see you again someday.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:30 AM with Fr. Joseph E. Vamos officiating.

Friends are invited to meet the family at 11:00 AM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street Merrillville, IN to proceed to the cemetery.
