He was born March 24 1916 at Centerville the son of John R. and Louella (May) Barbre. He was married Nov 28 1937 at Norris City to Ruth Sturm who died Nov 6 1989. He then married on Jan 9 1994 at Crossville Eldora Carter Oxendine who survives.
Mr Barbre was a meat cutter and a member of the Crossville Methodist Church.
Also surviving are three daughter Mary Lou Smith of Fla., Ruth Ann Wingrove of W.Va., and Carol Sue Adams of Enfield; one stepdaughter Mary Lou Roberson of Fla.; two stepsons Fred Oxendine and Michael Oxendine of Fla.; three sisters Vonda Boultinghouse of Crossville, Dorothy Hargett of Ramsey, and Helen Jean Gowdy of Carmi; seven grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, ten step great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
