Emmett was the son of Eli Jackson and Mary Margaret Franklin. On the 23 Dec 1913 he married Ida Goss and they had two children, Lee Roy and Edna. For most of his working life he was employed at various clothing stores. According to his death certificate he was an innkeeper at the time of his death. Emmett died of an accidental gunshot wound to the chest and the resulting bronchial pneumonia. His gun accidentally discharged as he was getting out of his car. He was 48 years old.
