Brandon Michael Schau, 17, of 2965 Fourth Ave., died Sunday, July 12, 1998, in the Ida Grove Horn Memorial Hospital from injuries suffered in a one-car accident in Ida County. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, by the Rev. Michael Fitzgerald. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Surviving are his mother; three brothers; his father; two half sisters; a half brother; and grandparents [names omitted for privacy].

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Michael Ludwig and Marlyn Schau.

Brandon was born the son of [private] on June 24, 1981, in Ida Grove. He was a junior at Marion High School, where he participated in basketball and was studying journalism, working on the school newspaper and yearbook. Brandon was active in the DARE and TATOO programs and was employed at Fareway and Menards. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
