Lois Mason Miller Foster age 82, died in Birmingham, AL on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. She was born on December 6, 1931 in Huntsville, Alabama. She was the third daughter of the late William Oscar Mason and Mabel Vaughan Mason. She graduated from Huntsville High School and received her BS in Home Economics from the University of Alabama.

She married William Cantrell Miller and they were transferred to Clinton, Iowa where he worked for DuPont. She lived in Iowa for over 24 years. She was elected to the Clinton Community School Board, and served as its President for many years. She was an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church.

After the death of her husband, William Miller, Lois returned to her hometown of Huntsville, AL. She was appointed to serve on the Housing Authority (following the footsteps of her Father). Lois was a proud graduate of the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, Class of 1998. She was also an active member of PEO, the Garden Club, DAR, DAC and a member of the First United Methodist Church alongside her second love, Joe Foster. Fall was her favorite season as she always enjoyed a good game of University of Alabama football. Roll Tide!!

Survivors include her husband, Joe Sherrill Foster of Huntsville; sister, Edith Mason Vann of Birmingham, AL; son, Douglas (Patti) Edward Miller of Pompano Beach, FL; daughter, Audrey Miller O'Neil of Frisco, TX; and grandchildren, Meredith Lea O'Neil of Frisco, TX, and Andrew William Miller and Marissa Lynn Miller, both of Pompano Beach, FL.

In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Huntsville. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, AL.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may contribute to either the Huntsville Botanical Garden, 4747 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35805 or to First United Methodist Church, Faith Property Fund, 120 Greene Street SE Huntsville, AL 35801, in loving memory of Mrs. Lois M Foster
