Major League Baseball Player. He was the backup catcher to Chicago White Sox star Ray Schalk, hitting .304 in 45 games in 1921 and .197 in 36 games in 1922. The right-handed batter hit .260 lifetime with 10 doubles, two triples, two homers and 24 runs batted in. He was just 1 for 18 as a pinch hitter. He began playing professionally in 1917 for Wichita of the Western League and had a big season there in 1920, when he hit .357 and led the league with 41 homers. He played five years in Birmingham of the Southern Association, hitting .369, .336, .389, .335 and .340 from 1926 to 1930. He didn't play from 1933 to 1935 but came back to play five more years in the lower minors.
