Henry Simon was born in February of 1896 in Camp Springs, Campbell County, Kentucky, the second-born child and first-born son of Henry George Simon and Apollonia Hoffmann Simon. Henry married Lulu White Simon, and they had at least one child.

Henry died at age 75 on March 7, 1971 in Newport, Campbell County. He is buried near his wife in Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Campbell County. His heritage was German.
