Our mother and grandmother passed away on December 1, 2014. Gayle was 91 years old.

She was born in Perry, Utah on March 26, 1923 to Ezra and Lillie Weaver. Gayle was the oldest of 8 children. She loved school and loved to learn. In high school she especially loved speech and drama where she served as director of the senior play. She also was on the debate team.

Gayle worked at Defense Depot Ogden as the Administrative Assistant to the Provost Marshal’s office. She received numerous awards for her excellent short hand, typing skills and her work. She was a long standing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings through her life time. She enjoyed playing the piano and writing poetry.

Gayle married a wonderful man (our Dad) Ned Christian Hansen on March 12, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. The three years following she worked for the government while Dad served in the military during WWII. Also, during that time she was the President of Beta Sigma Phi. Upon Dad’s return, they lived in Logan, Utah then in Pocatello, Idaho and finally in North Ogden, Utah where they raised four children, Jolene (Craig) Cooley, Trent (Sherrie) Hansen, Christene (Blake) Wayment, and Tracy (Karen) Hansen. She is survived by her four children, 21 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Nedra Wright and Kathy Manning.

She often told us the most important thing to her was her family.

She is now reunited with her husband Ned, her parents, along with 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

She will be missed by a large and loving family.

We love you Mom!
