Actress. She was crowned Miss America 1959, the first Mississippian to achieve this honor. After fulfilling her duties as Miss America 1959, she embarked on a career in both film and television. In 1963, she made her first television appearance on 'Burke's Law'. In a career spanning four decades, among TV shows she appeared in were 'The Virginian', 'Perry Mason', 'Mission: Impossible', 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.', 'General Hospital', 'Designing Women', 'Ironside', 'Falcon Crest' and 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch'. On film, she had roles in 'Get Yourself a College Girl' (1964), 'Girl Happy' (1965), 'Harum Scarum' (1965), 'Young Dillinger' (1965), 'Three on a Couch' (1966) and 'For Singles Only' (1968). In 1965, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year - Actress. Mobley, who ended her acting career in 1994, was married to actor Gary Collins from 1967 until his death in 2012, died after a second battle with breast cancer.
