Roy Bowman, 73, of Buffalo, Missouri, died peacefully at his residence. Roy was born the son of Ollie and Orpha Bowman.

He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviator,
flying "Skyraiders" for squadron VC-35, "The Night Hecklers." After serving in the Navy, Roy went to work for Show Me Power, and for and later retired from Webster Electric Co., both in Marshfield, Mo.

He was a member of the Webster County Masonic Lodge #98 A.F. and A.M., Valley of Joplin Scottish Rite and Abou Ben Adhem Temple of Springfield, where he was past commander of the Legion of Honor in 1985. Roy enjoyed gun collecting, hunting, history and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sue, of the home; sons, Kelly Bowman and wife, Jennifer, of Republic, Mo., Roy Blaine Gloyd and wife, Diana, of Republic; daughter, Kathy Castulik and husband, Mike, of St. Louis; stepson, Doug Youngblood and wife, Rhonda, of Oak Grove, Ark.; sister, Velma Snowden and husband, Blaine, of Hollister; brother, Wilburn Bowman and wife, Wanda, of Blue Eye; eight grandchildren; three nieces; two nephews; and special friend of the family, Cory.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Robin Sue Bowman, which passed away the day before his death. Funeral services for Mr. Bowman was on Thursday, April 20, in Whelchel Funeral Chapel, Branson. Burial followed in Blue Eye Cemetery, with full military honors.
