Father - Walter Minnich 1904-1988
Mother - Nellie Buxton 1906-1988

Mom was the only surviving child of Walter and Nellie Minnich. She never knew her father as he left long before she was old enough to remember him.

She and dad were married for more than 50 years and had six children. Jean, Jay Jr.,Clarence, Peter and Paul (twins) and Barbara. The twins and Barb were born less then a year apart, so it was almost like having triplets. I sure don't know how she did it. Sadly, Clarence died when he was just 10 days old.

Mom was an avid TV watcher. She also enjoyed playing cards and games. One of my favorite memories is when the family would get together for one of the holiday meals that she would cook and then we all played games after the dishes were done.

She was a very good cook. Hamburger rice soup and chicken corn soup were my favorites. She taught me how to make them and I always think of her when I do.

We miss you Mom.

If roses grow in Heaven Lord,
please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.

Tell her that I love and miss her,
and when she turns to smile
Place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day.
But there's an ache within my heart,
That will not go away.
