Mrs. Larson is the former Edythe Jensen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Peter Jensen.
Mrs. Larson had accompanied her husband on a plane trip to San Francisco to attend a telephone convention and to visit her brother, Dr. Alfred C. Jensen, when she was stricken with a heart attack.
She was born April 21, 1909 in Blair and graduated from the Blair High School. She also attended the University of Nebraska and the University at Boulder, Colorado before receiving her degree from the University of Omaha.
Besides teaching in several city schools in eastern Nebraska, she also instructed in the Omaha Public Schools.
In October, 1933 she was united in marriage to Eldred C. (Bub) Larson.
They are the parents of two children, Lt. Charles Larson of Hartford, Conn., and Sigrid Mary of Omaha. One grand-daughter, Sigrid Ann; a sister, Mrs. Warren Baller of Lincoln; two brothers, Dr. Alfred C. Jensen of San Francisco and Atty John P. Jensen of Kearney, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24th at the Brailey & Dorrance Mortuary at 4727 Hamilton Street in Omaha. Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Bill and Tim Baller of Lincoln, Sam Jensen of Omaha, Jack Jensen of Blair; and two cousins, Stanley Jensen and Merton Jensen of Blair.
Mrs. Larson was in the 1929 Blair Bridge celebration and was in the "Free Bridge" parade last summer.

Edythe Gertrude Jensen was the daughter of James Peter and Ora Odessa Carter Jensen.
She was the first "Miss Blair" in 1929.
Her grandson Peter "Pete" Festersen was elected an Omaha city council member in 2009 and again in 2013. He ran for the U.S. Congress and for Mayor of Omaha.
