Mr. Rhodes passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born on July 9, 1930 in Tallassee, Alabama to Willie Drue Rhodes and Julia Eve Connor Rhodes.
He was an active member of Wayside Baptist Church and worked with the RA’s at the church. Mr. Rhodes loved his grandchild and great grandchildren. He also loved to fish and garden. His specialty was tomatoes. Mr. Rhodes enjoyed watching Alabama sports, especially baseball, and coached a little league team.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Naomi Ruth Sprayberry Rhodes of Reeltown; daughter, Vicky Lynn Waters (Joe), of Notasulga; grandchild, Kristi (Travis) Spraggins; great-grandchildren, Branton Spraggins and Kalyn Spraggins; and brother, Bobby Jack Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Myrtle Leona Baker, Anita Gean Kilgore, and Julia Ann Fuller; and brothers, Herbert P. Rhodes, George Howard Rhodes, John Robert Rhodes, James A. Rhodes, and Bruce Wayne Rhodes.
In lieu of flowers family will accept donations to First Baptist Church, Reeltown, Children’s Ministry, 16963 Highway 49 South, Notasulga, Al 36866.
