Bedford Watson Sipes entered into this life on March 6, 1946 in Artesia, New Mexico. He was the first born child to B.W. Sipes and Willie Oneida (Talley) Sipes. Bedford departed this life and entered his heavenly home on December 4, 2014. He passed away at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs at the age of 68.

He had one brother Billy Sipes and one sister Jacqueline Sue Sipes both of Hobbs. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served his country in Vietnam in 1965-66. He was very proud of his military service and loved all of his veteran brothers and sisters.

Bedford was married to Cheryl Ann Grassfield on May 8, 1991 in Roswell. There were two children born to Bedford and Cheryl. A daughter Billie Jean and a son Cully Luke. Bedford also had the following children from a previous marriage; Tammy Rachel, Mark David, Kirk Scot, Debbie Jean and Arlene.

He was preceeded in death by both of his parents, his paternal grandfather George D. Sipes and paternal grandmother Dealie Sipes. He was also preceeded in death by his maternal gradparents William Luther Talley and maternal grandmother Pearl Turner. His oldest son Mark David preceeded his death on July 22, 2002.

Bedford leaves to cherish his memory the following family members; his wife Cheryl Ann, daughters Billie Jean Humphries Sipes, Tammy Rachel, Debbie Jean, and Arlene. He leaves the following sons; Cully Luke Sipes, Kirk Scot Sipes. He also leaves the following grandchildren Willie Sipes, Waylon Sipes, Jade Humphries Sipes, Kharma Humphries Sipes and a host of neices, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his beloved pets Johnny and Sugar Baby as well as many friends. He also leaves behind his brother Billy Sipes and sister Jacqueline Sue Sipes.

He enjoyed collecting watches, playing his favorite country and gospel songs on his guitar. He also enjoyed camping and his favorite place to camp was at Baca Canyon near Capitan. Bedford also was so proud to have received his Associates Degree from NMJC. He was in his 60's when he attended NMJC and completed his studies there.
