He graduated from Zillah High School and joined the army the following year to fight in WWII. He was wounded while fighting in the Pacific earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. After the war ended, he attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Earl then attended Central Washington University to receive his teaching certificate. Earl taught in the Sunnyside School District from 1956-1986. He enjoyed teaching and was very involved in bargaining for improved conditions for both students and teachers. When he retired from teaching he stayed very active in the Retired Teachers Association.
Earl married Mary Frazier and together they had two children, Kevin and Karma. Although their marriage did not last, Earl and Mary remained good friends and shared vacations and holidays together. Earl led a busy life and enjoyed many hobbies including the Studebaker Club, the Christian Motorcycle Club and singing in the church choir. He looked forward each year to camping with his brothers and the adventures they had on their trail bikes. He enjoyed holidays with family, spending time with his children, grandchildren and had a special bond with his niece Shelly Upton and nephew Curtis Upton.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents Archie and Irma Embree, his brothers Glen Embree and Frank Embree, his sister Ethel Fuller and his son Kevin Embree. Earl is survived by his daughter Karma (Ed) Suchan, his grandson Kevin Charles Embree, his granddaughters Michelle (Nic) White and Tiffany Prechel, his great grandchildren Georgia, Everett and Oliver White, his brothers Jess Embree and Ray (Nellie) Embree and his special friend Mary Embree.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA. with burial to follow with Military Honors at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.
