At an early age she moved with her parents to a farm near Farnam. She was united in marriage to William R. Fitch at Stockville, Nebraska on December 28, 1898. They resided for many years on a farm south of Farnam. In 1931 they moved to Gothenburg. Her husband preceded her in death in 1956.
Mrs. Fitch was an active member of the Gothenburg Methodist Church for 30 years. She was also a member of the W.C.T.U., the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Farnam Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Shelton, Riverside, California; Mrs. Glenrose McCormick, Hastings, Nebraska; Mrs. Doris Smith, Farnam; and Mrs. Lucille Hyde, Gothenburg. Four sons, Ronald of Pomona, California, Eugene of Arvada, Colorado, Dr. William Fitch, Downey, California, and Robert of Riverside, California; two brothers, Ben Ainlay, Belgrade, Nebraska and Henry Ainlay, Los Angeles, California; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Fitch was a loving mother, good neighbor and a friend of many. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 3, 1961 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. B.H. Hart officiating. Bernard Ristine sang accompanied by John Greene. Pallbearers were: Rosco Norsworthy, Glen Wintermute, Alvin Bringelson, Wilson Parker, Warren Lamb and Chester Hugo. Interment was in the Farnam Cem.
