Except for service in the U.S. Army and some time working in the oilfields as a young man, John Furman Haley spent his entire life as a cowboy and a rancher. After John's death on February 16, 1972, his son, John Arthur Haley wrote, 'Windmills, Drouths and Cottonseed Cake', a book about the life of John Furman Haley.
