Catherine -- Servillian "Bill" Meis, 77, Catherine, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 1991, at Hays Medical Center. Mr. Meis was born Oct. 24, 1913, at Catherine.

He was a retired oil field thick driver and a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Council Pratt.

Survivors include his wife, Irene of the home; two sons, the Rev. Peter of Mendi, Papua New Guinea, and Mike of Catherine; six daughters, Sister Mary Rose "Shirley" Meis of Canton, Miss., Sister Marise "Mary" Meis of Managua, Nicaragua, Yvonne Rodriguez and Christine Hadley, both of Hays, Geraldine Henning of Pratt, and Katherine Meis-Plank of Marion, Ind.; three sisters, Sally Orth of Manitowoc, Wis., Lucille Weigel of Hays and Angle Billinger of Victoria; two stepsisters, Seraphine Haas of Menasha, Wis., and Cyrilla Getz of Hays; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Catherine, the Rev. Michael Suchnicki officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A Sisters of St. Agnes rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m. today, a Daughters of Isabella rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today and an Altar Society rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today followed by a parish vigil at Hays Memorial Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Council of Ellis County, the Foreign Missions Sisters of St. Agnes in Nicaragua or the Capuchin Mission Office, Denver. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
