Musician. Lari Goss received recognition as a 20th-century Christian musician, specializing in orchestral arranging, producing, songwriting and being a keyboard artist. In a 60-year career, he worked with many musical artists including The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, The Cathedrals, Signature Sound, Anthony Burger, Greater Vision, Christ Church, The Martins, Larnelle Harris, Phil Driscoll, The Gaither Vocal Band, Janet Paschal, Glen Campbell, Ray Price, B.J. Thomas and the Atlanta Rhythm Section. He released numerous albums, especially of him playing the piano. Born Larry Andrew Goss, his career in music started as a young boy with his siblings James and Roni as the Goss Brothers. The Goss Brothers ranked 38th among the most influential artists in the history of Southern Gospel music during the early 1960s. Besides being the guest lecturer at music symposiums and seminars, he was an Artist-in-Residence at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he taught graduate level courses in Orchestration and Recording Studio Accompanying. Among his accolades recognizing his talent, he was a Grammy Award recipient as well as receiving at least 15 GMA Dove Awards. Other awards include the 2000 SGMA Arranger of the Year Award, SGMA Decade of the 90's Piano Honor Roll award, and the 2008 SGMG Choral Music Honoree. He was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2009 along with receiving several Lifetime Achievement Awards and People Choice Awards. His arrangement for the release "A Cappella," which featured several artists, received a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album, as well as the Dove Award nomination for Inspirational Album of the Year. In addition to his music, he was an ordained minister. His son B.J. Goss followed in his footsteps becoming a Grammy Award recipient musician. The Annual Lari Goss Invitational, a charity golf tournament, has benefited the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home in previous years.
