Martha Maxon, 48, Mt. Morris, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 1978, in the Uiversity Medical Center, Morgantown, W. Va., following an illness of several days.
A daughter of Clarence and Marie Knight Kiger of Wayesburg R.D. 3, she was born August 30, 1929, in Wayne township, near Brock, where she resided during her early life. She had made her home in Mt. Morris for number of years.
Mrs. Maxon was a member of the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women of the church. She was also a member of Emerald Chapter 135, Order of Eastern Star, Waynesburg.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Charles E. Maxon Sr., whom she married September 8, 1945; a son, Charles E. Maxon Jr. of Mt. Morris; two granddaughters, Melissa and Michelle Maxon, and a sister, Mrs. Arvel (Betty) Kiger of Waynesburg R.D. 3.
